Student Place — Privacy Policy

Purpose

This Privacy Policy explains when and how Student Place Limited ("Student Place", "we", "our", or "us") collects personal information from users of the Student Place platform (the "Platform"), and what we do with it. We do not sell, share, or trade personal information except as set out in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

To register, you must be currently enrolled as a student at a university or other tertiary education institution. When you register as a student on the Platform, we collect:

• Name
• Email address
• Student ID

We do not collect any other personal information at sign-up beyond what is listed above.

2. How Your Information Is Disclosed to Us

You provide personal information to us when you:

• Register an account on the Platform
• Use another student's affiliate code or refer a friend
• Make a self-purchase or affiliate purchase at a partnered brand
• Contact us or provide feedback about the Platform
• Update your profile (e.g. profile photo, username)

This information may be viewable by certain members of our team in the course of operating and administering the Platform (for example, via the Admin Dashboard). To the extent it forms part of leaderboard or campus feed material, limited information (such as your username, tier, and StuDollar totals) may also be viewable by other users of the Platform.

3. Holding of Information

Personal information you provide is currently hosted on infrastructure provided by Emergence and Lovable.ai (our platform development and hosting providers). Personal information may accordingly be held or processed on servers located outside New Zealand. By using the Platform, you acknowledge that your information may be stored overseas, and that Student Place will take reasonable steps to ensure any such provider handles your information consistently with New Zealand privacy law.

4. Use of Personal Information

We will only use personal information provided to us for the following purposes:

• To create and administer your Student Place account
• To calculate and allocate StuDollars, discount tiers, and affiliate rewards
• To operate the leaderboard and campus feed features
• To enable partnered brands to verify your discount tier via QR code
• To communicate with you about your account, promotions, or Platform updates
• To improve and evaluate the Platform's services
• To detect and prevent fraud or misuse of the Platform

5. Disclosure to Partnered Brands

When a partnered brand scans your unique QR code to process a transaction, the brand can see your applicable discount tier and your prior transaction history with that brand — specifically, how much you have saved, your current discount tier, and how many StuDollars you have earned through them. Brands do not see any other personal information about you (such as your name, email, or student ID) through this process. We do not share personal information with brands beyond what is described above. Brand-facing analytics dashboards show brands only their own customers' aggregated activity (e.g. total sales, affiliate activity, customer breakdowns) — we do not provide brands with anonymised or aggregated data about students who are not their customers.

6. Statistical Information and Cookies

We may collect statistical information about your visits to the Platform to help us analyse usage and improve our services. This may include your IP address, pages accessed, date and time of visits, and device or browser information. Our use of cookies or analytics/tracking tools (such as Google Analytics or similar) is currently undecided. If we introduce such tools, we will update this Policy accordingly.

7. StuDollars, Discounts, and Financial Information

StuDollars are a rewards token used within the Platform only. They cannot be exchanged, redeemed, or converted for cash, and have no monetary withdrawal value. Student Place does not process card payments or hold your financial/payment information — purchases occur directly between you and the partnered brand at their point of sale; Student Place only records the transaction amount for the purpose of calculating StuDollars, tier progress, and applicable commissions.

8. Children and Minors

The Platform does not currently impose a minimum age for registration. If you are under 18, we encourage you to involve a parent or guardian in your use of the Platform, and to seek their consent before registering. Parents or guardians who believe their child has registered without appropriate consent may contact us using the details in Section 10 to request review, correction, or deletion of that child's information.

9. Your Rights

You have the right to access and request correction of any personal information we hold about you in connection with your use of the Platform, or to request correction of that information if you have any concerns regarding your privacy. Please contact us using the details below. We may require proof of your identity before being able to provide you with your personal information.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on the Platform with an updated effective date. Continued use of the Platform after such changes constitutes acceptance.
